Shattering of the soul
A poem about heart break, the experiences, and the process to get healed.
A heartbreak, a shattering of the soul, leaves one feeling lost, incomplete, not whole. It tears apart the fabric of our being, leaves us numb, broken, and forever unseeing.
The memories flood in, a tidal wave of pain, as we try to grasp what we've lost in vain. The laughter, the love, the moments so sweet, now replaced with emptiness, a void complete.
We search for answers, and reasons to explain why our heart's love was not enough to sustain. But in the end, it doesn't matter the cause, for our heart is still shattered, it still gives pause.
We try to move on but the weight is so heavy as we stumble, fall, and grasp for something steady. The ache in our chest, a constant reminder of a love that once was, now just a faint reminder.
We'll heal in time, that much is true but for now, the pain is all that we knew. A heartbreak, a shattering of the soul, leaves one feeling lost, incomplete, not whole.
